DISNEY CHANNEL SPAIN BRAND PROPOSAL

In 2021, Flopicco was in charge of the rebrand of Disney Channel Spain and I designed for them a brand proposal at an early stage of the project. The idea was to create a smart, entertaining visual identity taking into consideration that modern children have a clever understanding of the digital world. Following this inspiration, I created a visual language with UI minimalistic designs and stickers being the core elements of the brand.

Besides the general brand featured in the main promo toolkit, I have created some secondary sets of designs based on thematic blocks of the channel. The following are style frames designed to inspire an ID that captures the essence of the brand.

The main thematic blocks of the channel are called School’s Out, Nighttime Tales, Everyday Heroes and Buddy Up. All these secondary packages derive from the main brand but have an emphasis on some specific elements, in order to enhance their own theme and to be distinguishable.

The following is School’s Out and it refers to a set of TV shows streamed in the early afternoon, right after kids come back from school. Therefore it features a bright, playful and energetic design with textures being the leitmotif.

Nighttime Tales is the thematic block which relates to all the movies and TV shows streamed at night. Therefore the design features the darkest colors of the palette with some lighter accents, and some gentle rounded shapes that come together to create minimalistic 3D elements that are a clear reference to the imagination of cinema and films.

The rounded rhombus that slightly appeared in the main brand now becomes the main character of the thematic block called Everyday Heroes. With the themes of expansion and repetition, this sub-brand suggests a bold flow of energy that surrounds the heroes featured in movies and TV shows.

The fourth thematic block is called Buddy Up and it refers to the programs streamed in the early morning, before school time, and therefore features a bright, sunny design. The key element of this section are the stickers, which are enhanced and combined together with some realistic 3D photographic elements.

Lastly, I created some secondary packages for tiny sections of the channel in which short videos, tutorials and documentaries would be streamed. They are designed according to five themes: Laboratory, Just Dance, Challenge, Crafts and Masterchef.
